Red Deer Doula Association

About Us

Do you wonder who we are and what our organization is doing in this community. We are a group of independent Doulas who volunteer our time to the Red Deer Doula Association and strive to educate, inform and support women here in Central Alberta. We are always working on new ideas, events and planning our next gathering. Here is a glimpse of what we have been up to for this fall:

A warm Hello to Fellow Doulas and Birth Professionals at the end of this lovely summer.

We at the Red Deer Doula Association would like to take a moment to personally say Hi and share a little bit about our Association and what we are working on in the area for this Fall. A few of our members have been collecting names of Doulas and Birth Professionals via business cards, word of mouth, workshops and social media so that we could take some time to connect with other Doulas like ourselves and reach out to a very fast growing community in the Birth World here in our area, meaning Doulas and Professionals like you!!

First let us introduce you to the Red Deer Doula Association or RDDA as we like to call it. Our vision is Doulas supporting Doulas so we can serve our community well and our goal is to see our membership grow so that the network of support can be a wealth of information, education, understanding, mentoring, peer support and personal growth for all Doulas in the central area of Alberta. The Red Deer Doula Association is a non-profit organization formed to provide information about Doulas and Doula services to the general public and expectant parents about their labour and postpartum support options, while operating as a network and support group for fellow Doulas. Within the Red Deer Doula Association our membership has both independent birth and postpartum doulas to help your family.  All current Active members of the Red Deer Doula Association have attended training through an organization such as DONA or CAPPA and have assisted at least 3 families during birth or the postpartum period. Our Doulas are trained and committed to helping couples have the birth they desire. We provide emotional support, physical comfort measures and encouragement during labour, delivery and beyond.  Our members each run their own Doula businesses offering a variety of services and skills in their practice, while networking with Doulas in our Association to help provide the best support for couples in the Red Deer area.

We are very excited this Fall to be working on some wonderful events in Red Deer. We’d like to share with you what we are planning and also personally invite you to come.
