Are you looking for quality in home support after the addition of a new little one into your family? Let me help….
My name is Wendy and I am a CAPPA certified Postpartum Doula serving Central Alberta. I have been an active member of the birth community in Central Alberta since 2011, not only as a Postpartum Doula, but also as an educator, teaching in many of Red Deer’s prenatal and mom to be programs about breastfeeding, babywearing and the postpartum period.
As a Postpartum Doula I offer caring and professional in home support designed to meet the individual needs of each family I work with. My goal is to lighten the load for new parents so they can focus on each other, their newborn and enjoy the beautiful postpartum time together. My role includes caring for the family, caring for the home, answering questions, sharing knowledge and yes, I even do night shifts!
Are there older siblings in your home? I have my Early Childhood Development Level One Certification and love helping older siblings transition into their new roles as big brother or sister. It can be a hard time for them, and having someone available to have one on one time with, or to watch baby so they can spend time with mom or dad can mean so much….
As a Certified Babywearing Educator through the Canadian Babywearing School I can also answer any babywearing questions you might have and teach you this valuable skill.
Don’t feel you need to tackle the postpartum period alone. Although it is wonderful and joyous, it can also be very hard physically and emotionally. As your family goes through the ups and downs that accompany a new addition (or two), remember that help is available. Everyone deserves the knowledgeable and caring support of a Postpartum Doula.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have. I’d love to chat! All the best on your journey!
