Hi, I’m Sarah!
My love for all things pregnancy and birth started when I was working at Women’s Imaging in Red Deer, I worked alongside the sonographers and the OBGYN. During this time I gained extensive knowledge in fetal growth, fertility and female anatomy. My favourite part of my job was meeting and connecting with the mothers and following their journey from conception to postpartum. I was able to be a friendly supportive face through the good news and the bad. I decided I wanted to expand my knowledge in pregnancy and birth to be able to better support women, this led me to become a doula. I did extensive research and came across DONA International, I found a Doula training in my area and I am so glad I did!
Since taking the training in 2018 I have attended many births ranging from natural to cesarean. I strongly believe that all parents should have the time, space, and support they need to have the birth and parenting experience they are hoping for.
I am also a Lamaze trained Childbirth Educator, building my curriculum around evidence based information. I believe that preparing for birth and parenting doesn’t have to be scary. I know first hand as a mother and by witnessing the fighting and judgment from others how discouraged one can feel when making a choice for their family. I believe that by using the most current evidence based information mothers and families will be able to feel empowered in their choices. My goal is to help you be as informed as possible so that you can feel confident in every decision you make on your journey to becoming a parent.
