End-of-Life Support
Gentle companionship, comfort and practical guidance for individuals and families facing the end of life.
No one should face this alone
An end-of-life doula offers calm, compassionate presence in one of life's most profound passages. We hold space for what matters most — comfort, dignity, connection and peace — for the person nearing the end of life and for the people who love them.
This support works alongside your medical and hospice teams, never in place of them. It is shaped gently, and entirely, around you.

Common questions
What does an end-of-life doula do?
An end-of-life (or death) doula offers non-medical emotional, practical and spiritual support to a dying person and their family — companionship, planning, vigil presence, and guidance through a difficult time.
Is this the same as hospice or palliative care?
No. Hospice and palliative teams provide medical care. An end-of-life doula complements them, focusing on presence, comfort and the human experience of dying — working alongside, never replacing, the medical team.
When is the right time to involve an end-of-life doula?
Whenever it would help. Some families reach out after a terminal diagnosis; others much later. Support can begin at any point and is shaped entirely around your needs.
Can a doula support the family after a death?
Yes. Many of our doulas offer gentle bereavement companionship and can point you toward grief resources in the community.
If you or someone you love is in crisis, please reach out to your local healthcare provider or call 911. For grief support in Alberta, your family doctor or hospice can connect you with counselling services.
